Jagiellonian Park and Technology Incubator, Life Science Park in Kraków
This is the most innovative facility in the Polish natural and medical science research market.
The contract, implemented by the consortium of Mostostal Warszawa and Acciona Infraestructuras, was the 2nd stage of construction of the Life Science Park and Technology Incubator. It encompassed the construction of two laboratory and office buildings, the Bio-Incubator (building No. 3) and Technology Park (building No. 3), the arrangement of interiors and area management, including the construction of access roads and parking spaces.
Both buildings are equipped with innovative fire-prevention technology: HI-FOG water mist installation. During the extinguishing of a fire with a traditional sprinkler installation, even up to 90% of devices located within its range may be damaged. In a traditional extinguishing system, all the electronic devices are damaged due to penetration of water and prolonged exposure to high temperatures. In the HI-FOG technology, the volume of damage may be limited to approx. 10%. Park Life Science is one of the first investments in Poland equipped with an installation of this type.
Innovation and applied technologies place Life Science Park on a par with such centres as Massachusetts Institute of Technology or the University of Oxford.
Inside the buildings, there are animal quarters, coolers for the storage of research materials, disinfection locks, an electronic library, a wine bar, saunas, a fitness room and a kindergarten.
Theconstruction of the Life Science Park commenced in March 2011 was conducted under the quality supervision of TÜV Rheinland Polska Sp. z o.o. for the purpose of procuring a BQS certificate. The investment value amounted to PLN 64 million gross.
