We have completed the construction of the Opatów bypass

- The completion of the Opatów bypass is further proof of the effectiveness of Mostostal Warszawa S.A. cooperation with public administration and local governments. A key investment for the region

The 11.5 km Opatów bypass diverts transit traffic from the city center, shortens travel times on the Kielce–Lublin and Radom–Rzeszów routes, and significantly improves safety on national roads No. 9 and 74. It is a strategic element of the upcoming S74 expressway, which will connect the Łódź, Świętokrzyskie, and Podkarpackie voivodeships.

New road layout

As part of the project, the following were constructed:

• 5.1 km of dual-carriageway DK9 road of GP class,

• approximately 6.5 km of dual-carriageway S74 expressway,

• 3 km of a single-carriageway northern connector to DK74,

• two road interchanges: Opatów and Opatów I,

• 20 engineering structures, including four viaducts serving as bridges, overpasses, and wildlife crossings. The largest viaduct along DK9 is nearly 300 m long with 17 m high supports.

The new route allows a complete bypass of Opatów, relieving the city center from heavy traffic and eliminating previous congestion. In 2025, Mostostal Warszawa S.A. also completed the 3 km northern connector to DK74, which complements the bypass road network and enables full transit traffic around the city.

The project cost 396,6 mln PLN and was partially co-financed by EU funds under the European Funds for Infrastructure, Climate, Environment (FEnIKS) Program.
