Mostostal Warszawa and Emergency Services united for construction site safety
On the construction site of the Opatów bypass, county-level emergency response drills titled "OBWODNICA 2025" were conducted. The event involved the State Fire Service, medical teams, the Police, crisis management units, as well as representatives of the investor and the contractor. The main goal was to refine response procedures in the event of large-scale road incidents.
- Exercises like this help us better understand potential hazards and improve coordination among all emergency services during crisis situations - said Krzysztof Żmijan, Contract Director.
- As the Office responsible for IMS, Health and Safety, and Environmental Protection, we place great importance on broad-based prevention and education. Cooperation with rescue units is not just a duty, but a demonstration of our commitment to protecting human life and health - emphasized Marcin Krysiewicz, Director of Integrated Management Systems, Health and Safety, and Environmental Protection.
The drills featured realistic scenarios, including a collision between a bus and a passenger car, as well as a fire involving a truck. The joint efforts of all services allowed for effective practice of coordination and communication under near-real conditions.
These exercises were a vital part of fostering a safety culture on the construction site. We thank all participants for their professionalism and full engagement.
A Key Investment
The Opatów bypass, where the drills took place, is a major regional investment being carried out under the national “100 Bypasses Construction Program”. The new 12-kilometer section will significantly reduce traffic in the city center, improve traffic flow, and enhance safety for both residents and drivers.
