Topping out ceremony at the Tychy Aquapark

Topping out is a symbolic ceremony showing that construction of the tallest element of roof structure is coming to an end and a project is nearing completion. In summer 2017 Tychy will be able to boast with one of the most modern Aquaparks in Europe.Mostostal Warszawa is the general contractor of this project worth PLN 114.60 million.

The ceremony took place on 20 May 2016 at the construction site of the Tychy Aquapark. The host of the ceremony – Regionalne Centrum Gospodarki Wodno-Ściekowej(Regional Water and Sewage Management Centre) – invited the following people: Andrzej Goławski (President of Mostostal Warszawa), Andrzej Dziuba (President of Tychy), as well as representatives of the Tychy Town Hall, the Design Consultants and the Resident Engineer.

President of Mostostal Warszawa - Andrzej Goławski – thanked all the personnel involved in the project implementation, particularly the Contract Manager – Rafał Kuraj, and the Site Manager – Tomasz Rywacki.

- The works connected with construction of the swimming pool began at the end of 2014 and are continued as planned.It is another prestigious sports venue in our Company’s portfolio and another one built for Tychy after the recently commissioned City Stadium.Tychy Aquapark is the first energy self-sufficient facility of that type in Poland.Electric energy and heat will be produced using biogas from the Tychy Wastewater Treatment Works – said Andrzej Goławski, President of the Board of Mostostal Warszawa.

Floor space of the Tychy Aquapark is 16,000 sq.m. of which 1,700 sq.m. is swimming pools (the indoor pools occupy 400 sq.m.). The venue will contain a set of sports pools with movable floors, fitness zone, gym, wellness, two-level recreation space, indoor sauna area and surfing simulator. The Tychy Aquapark is the only facility in Poland with an Aqualoop slide, a special capsule with opening floor in which you can slide down with acceleration of 3G – three time higher than earth gravity. Moreover, there will be a unique educational centre at the complex presenting properties of water.

Further intensive construction work is ongoing at the construction site of the Tychy Aquapark. Partition walls are erected in most zones. Detailing and plastering is performed in most recreation swimming pools. Concreting of floors in that part will commence soon. In the sliding loop tower window joinery is being installed. Outside the building internal roads are constructed and kerbs mounted, cobble set is placed on the parking lot. Equally intensive work is performed as far as installations are concerned. Individual parts of the facility get connected to various utilities – adds Tomasz Rywacki, Mostostal Warszawa Site Manager.

The Tychy Aquapark is planned for completion in June 2017. The South Branch of Mostostal Warszawa is in charge of the contract performance, managed by Janusz Stanaszak, including Rafał Kuraj (Contract Director), Tomasz Rywacki (Site Manager) and the following discipline engineers: Wojciech Ceszar – sanitary works manager and Marcin Ekiert – electrical works manager.
