We laid the foundation stone for the building of the Faculty of Physics of AGH

On June 25 the foundation stone laying ceremony for the new building of the Faculty of Physics and Applied Computer Science of the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków took place. The investment is implemented by Mostostal Warszawa.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of the university authorities, including prof. Tadeusz Słomka, Rector of AGH and prof. Janusz Wolny, Dean of the Faculty of Physics and Applied Computer Science, as well as representatives of Mostostal Warszawa - General Contractor of the investment: Maciej Sasak - Eastern Area Director, Grzegorz Danikiewicz - Commercial Director, Artur Sikora - Contract Group Director, Mariusz Rudnik - Contract Manager and Jacek Ungeheuer - Construction Manager.

The building of the Faculty of Physics and Applied Computer Science is another project implemented by Mostostal Warszawa on behalf of the university. We have been active in this area for years, as evidenced by completed in recent years, as well as currently implemented investments such as modern and advanced engineering facilities of Polish universities - says Maciej Sasak. - By implementing this investment, we are strengthening our activity in the Lesser Poland Voivodship, where we are currently also constructing Zabłocie Socio-Economic Innovation Cluster, project included in the Kraków Development Strategy "Here I Want to Live. Kraków 2030".

The building under construction is to perform didactic functions for the Faculty of Physics and Applied Computer Science of AGH. It will house the employees of the Faculty, didactic and laboratory rooms as well as lecture and seminar rooms. The five-storey facility will be located on the campus of AGH at Reymont Street in Kraków.

The Faculty of Physics and Applied Computer Science has the status of the Leading National Scientific Center and the highest category of the scientific level - A +. The modern facility will allow the faculty to create a base for the development of biophysics, both as a research field and a field of study at the Faculty of Physics and Applied Computer Science, which has obtained the right to confer postdoctoral degree in this field.
