We have laid the foundation stone for the construction of the PKP Intercity train wash!

On November 8, 2022, we laid the cornerstone for the construction of the PKP Intercity train wash in Wrocław. This is another investment that Mostostal Warszawa is implementing for Polish railways. 

The event was attended by: Maciej Małecki, Secretary of State in the Ministry of State Assets; Mirosława Stachowiak-Różecka, Member of the Polish Parliament; Marek Chraniek, President of the Management Board of PKP Intercity; Krzysztof Świerczek, Member of the Management Board of PKP Intercity and Jacek Szymanek, Member of the Management Board of Mostostal Warszawa.

- Mostostal Warszawa is increasing its activity in the area of railway investments. In addition to important investments that we are implementing in Wrocław, we are also a contractor for the modernization of the Gdańsk Główny PKP railway station. For years, we have been an efficient and reliable partner for Polish railways - says Jacek Szymanek, Member of the Management Board of Mostostal Warszawa. - We are also more and more present in Lower Silesia, where we implement prestigious public and private investments.

It will improve the working conditions of the station crew in Wrocław, it will be environmentally friendly and will increase the quality of services for passengers - says Maciej Małecki, Secretary of State at the Ministry of State Assets.

About investment

The facility is located in the area of the railway station, train station. The investment will be an all-year-round complex for external washing of trains. It is to be equipped with a sewage treatment plant with a closed circuit of technological water, allowing for multiple use of washing water. The train wash hall will be approx. 200 meters long and will be equipped with self-propelled portals with brushes and nozzles along the track line. Photovoltaic panels will be installed on the roof of the technical room of the car wash to generate electricity for the building's own needs. The hall will be equipped with a rainwater collection system and a stand to protect the rolling stock against icing. The contract value is PLN 34.18 million gross.

In addition to the construction of the train wash, the third stage of the reconstruction of the depot hall at the Wrocław Główny station is in progress. The facility is of great importance for PKP Intercity. Running and emergency repairs of rolling stock as well as technical inspections of traction vehicles are carried out at the stop in Wrocław. Thanks to the completion of the third stage of modernization of the facility, its water management will improve and the standard of rolling stock maintenance and work ergonomics will be raised. The contractor of this investment is also Mostostal Warszawa.
