Visits from the lift - a joint action of Mostostal Warszawa and Orpea Polska

29 April 2020

Mostostal Warszawa and Orpea Polska organized the "Visits from a lift" campaign. Thanks to the action, the residents of a nursing home for seniors could meet their families.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, in early March ORPEA Polska stopped visiting nursing homes for seniors. Because it is difficult for residents and their families, substitute forms of contact have been introduced, including "Telephone meetings through the glass" - unfortunately only possible for rooms on the ground floor / ground floor houses.

Thanks to the equipment made available by Mostostal Warszawa, Orpea organized at the Nursing Home Rezydencja DĄBRÓWKA a "visit from a lift". The lift has provided a team for the construction of a rehabilitation clinic in Warsaw, in which Waldemar Giedrojć is the Contract Manager.

- We are aware that the current isolation is particularly difficult for nursing home residents and their families. All the more I'm glad that we were able to join the "Visits from a lift" campaign and enable seniors and their families to meet - says Jacek Szymanek, Member of the Board of Mostostal Warszawa.

Mostostal Warszawa is building a rehabilitation clinic for Orpea Polska in Warsaw's Wawer. Click to read more about the investment.

ORPEA Polska has been operating since 2001 and is a leader in stationary long-term care. It offers nearly 1,000 places in modern nursing homes for seniors (under the MEDI-system and ORPEA Rezydencje brand) and clinics specializing in neurological, systemic and cardiac rehabilitation (under the MEDI-system brand and CLINEA Clinics). Houses and clinics are located in Mazowsze, Chorzów and Wrocław, where apart from nursing home there are Apartments for Seniors (assisted living formula). Seniors live in their homes who, due to their age and health condition, require daily support and round-the-clock care, as well as people who have finished their hospital stay after a disease or surgery, but are not yet ready to function independently. Among those under care there are also people affected by the so-called dementia, mainly in the course of Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease. A team of over 750 people (nurses and carers, physiotherapists, doctors, occupational therapists, speech therapists and psychologists, auxiliary and administrative staff) cares for the health and safety of residents and patients. ORPEA Polska offers care in rehabilitation wards and in care and treatment centers under the National Health Fund or in a commercial form. The company is part of the largest network of ORPEA nursing homes and rehabilitation clinics in Europe, present in the industry since 1989 with a potential of nearly 94,000 places (over 930 facilities) in 12 European countries, as well as in Brazil, China, Chile and Uruguay.
