- I dedicate the award to the entire team involved in the modernization work of the Gdańsk Główny Railway Station, which posed a significant challenge. Thanks to your determination and hard work, we have restored the former appearance of the historic building in the heart of Gdańsk - said Jorge Calabuig Ferre, Vice President of the Management Board of Mostostal Warszawa.

The modernization of the Gdańsk Główny Railway Station included:

• restoration of the original architectural form of the building's facade and roof,
• recreation of the historical layout of some rooms and the color scheme of the passenger hall,
• reconstruction of the communication part connecting the station with existing city tunnels and platforms.

The station is listed in the register of monuments and is located within the urban layout of the historic city of Gdańsk, as well as within the archaeological site of the medieval Old Town of Gdańsk. The Gdańsk Główny Railway Station building was opened to passengers on July 31, 2023.

The value of the contract amounted to nearly 133 million PLN gross.

The exclusive investor of the investment was the Polish State Railways S.A. The reconstruction of the Gdańsk Main Station was co-financed by the European Union funds under the Operational Program Infrastructure and Environment.

"Infrastructure and Construction Diamonds"

The awards are granted as part of the "Polish Infrastructure and Construction" event, which attracts the most important representatives of the construction industry each year: members of public institutions, general contractor boards, subcontractors, and associations.

Diamonds demonstrate the added value that infrastructure and construction investments bring to the development of the Polish economy.
