14 May 2019

On May 13 the first shovel was officially driven into the Stalowa Wola and Nisko beltway construction. The contractor to the investment is a consortium of Mostostal Warszawa and Acciona Construccion.

Construction of the Stalowa Wola and Niska suburban road along the national road No. 77 includes the section from intersection  Wola Podskarpowa road with Chopina Stalowa street in Stalowa Wola to the S19 expressway in the municipality of Nisko connection.

The ceremony was attended by, amongst others Rafał Weber - Deputy Minister of Infrastructure, Adam Hamryszczak - Deputy Minister of Investment and Development, Janina Sagatowska - Senator of the Republic of Poland, Bogdan Rzońca - Member of Parliament, Chairman of the Parliamentary Infrastructure Committee , Ewa Draus - Deputy Voivode of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, Bogdan Tarnawski - Director of the GDDKiA Warsaw branch , Lucius Nadbereżny - Stalowa Wola, President,  Jorge Calabuig Ferre, Vice President of the Management Board of Mostostal Warszawa.

- The symbolic digging of the first shovels and the commencement of works on the construction of the Stalowa Wola and Niska beltways once again confirms that Mostostal Warszawa is a trustworthy company that is fully trusted by the investor - says Jorge Calabuig Ferre. Today's celebration pleases us all the more that it is another sign of our company's comeback to the construction of roads in Poland and shows the significance of this construction segment in our portfolio. We are constantly strengthening our human and equipment potential. Work on the construction of the Morawica bypass has just started and next year work will begin on the construction of other expressway sections: S61 and S19, which are currently in the design phase. I am therefore glad to say that today we can start construction of this beltway for the largest Investor, ie the General Directorate of National Roads and Motorways following an interlude of several years.

The investment includes the construction of a dual-carriage, single-carriageway with a rutile-resistant surface, with single-level and two-level intersections, two road links, bridges, viaducts, culverts, servicing roads on adjacent terrain, environmental protection devices and reconstruction of technical infrastructure which collides with the investment.

- National Road No. 77 is one of the most important transport corridors in the Podkarpacie region as well as the entire country, as it carries traffic also to border crossings in Korczowa and Medyka - Rafał Weber emphasized, Deputy Minister of Infrastructure during the ceremony. - Currently, DK77 runs through areas with extensive residential development in Stalowa Wola and Nisko. high traffic levels through these cities causes significant difficulties for their residents. In addition, there is limit traffic for vehicles above 3.5 tonnes through the Nisko city centre, which hinders the development of local enterprises. The ring road will improve communication between towns, increased road capacity and will move transit traffic away from the city center, which will improve the living conditions for residents of both cities and increase traffic safety.
