In the conference participated recognised delegated from institutions which actively develop or plan to extend its presence in the area of research and development, as well as those which are beneficiaries or are applying for funds from the Horizon 2020. The event was organised in order to create a nationwide forum for discussion, exchange of the best practices and strategic planning regarding the development of the effective R[&]D strategy for Polish industry. Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Ministry of Development, National Centre for Research and Development and Patent Office of the Republic of Poland took this event under its patronage.

During the panel regarding large enterprises: R+D for industry and building a brand in the country and abroad’ Piotr Dymarski from Research and Development at Mostostal Warszawa presented three European research programs which are focused on the renovation of the buildings and developing a method for energy management in buildings. All of them refer to the use of BIM technology – Building Information Modeling. As we are engaged in this and others initiatives, we are gaining knowledge about BIM technology, improving our qualifications and preparing our employees for the upcoming legal requirements that will enter into force in a few years.

One of the latest examples of works carried out as a part of BIM was a laser scanning of the Nursery School no. 3 at Warchałowskiego 8 St. in Warsaw.  In addition to the inventory, engineers will be able to develop BIM model of the building. At the moment, in the company is being developed an internal standard for BIM policy.
