Second Construction in Poland Forum behind us!

17 October 2017

On October 12th at the Airport Okęcie Hotel in Warsaw, 140 executives from the largest companies in the construction sector met to share their experiences, share their views on current trends in the construction industry, and also to present their plans for the coming years. The forecasts for 2018 were discussed at an expert panel with the participation of Andrzej Goławski, President of the Management Board of Mostostal Warszawa.

Both the PMR studies, the organizers of the project and the opinions of the forum participants show that the economic situation in the construction industry is better than in previous years. The industry expects revenue from construction and real estate businesses in 2017 to grow.

Andrzej Goławski, President of the Management Board of Mostostal Warszawa, during the panel ‘Forecasts for 2018 - moderate acceleration or strong growth? Planned strategies, opportunities and threats for the sector’ he spoke in the discussion about development plans in particular market segments and the company's strategy for the coming years. He also discussed price trends in the area of execution of contracts.

It should be emphasized that the improved situation of the construction industry does not eliminate problems. Even as they welcomed the noticeable acceleration in railway tenders, the continued buoyancy of the residential construction segment, or the strong performance of the commercial segment, Forum participants also expressed concern that the spike in activity observed in so many parts of the market has come just at a time when construction firms are grappling with labour shortages and rising materials and transport prices, and wondered what the consequences might be for their companies and for the market as a whole. Construction in Poland in Forum was also an excellent opportunity for lively discussions about efficiency, innovation and education in the construction sector as well as the project financing and profitability.
