S19 Rzeszów Południe-Babica: Important Viaduct Opened to Traffic

Opening the viaduct resolves traffic congestion near the former railway crossing, where local, transit, and tourist traffic converged. The new infrastructure significantly improves road capacity.

The viaduct is a key element of the Babica junction, allowing traffic to pass over the Rzeszów Główny–Jasło railway line and technological lanes without interference. Until the adjacent roundabouts are completed, pedestrian traffic will continue under current arrangements.

Project Implementation

The S19 section is being built by a consortium of Mostostal Warszawa and Acciona Construcción. The entire section spans 10.3 km, with a contract value of PLN 2.2 billion. Work began in April 2022.
