PARP rewards Mostostal Warszawa for innovations
Mostostal Warszawa once again proves that innovations are its field of expertise. The composite road bridge which was created under the project Com-bridge was selected the Polish Product of the Future in the category product of the future: scientific organization – consortium. In total, 25 innovative projects were nominated for the award of the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development. During the award ceremony (30 November) the grand prix for Mostostal Warszawa collected Jacek Szymanek, Member of the Board for Mangement and Administration.
The honorary patron of the competition was Ministry of Development. Many well-recognised companies and organizations were nominated for the award, e.g. Centrum Badawczo-Rozwojowe KGHM CUPRUM Sp. z o.o., Szkoła Główna Gospodarstwa Wiejskiego (Wydział Nauk o Żywieniu Człowieka i Konsumpcji), Instytut Chemii Przemysłowej, Instytut Nafty i Gazu - Państwowy Instytut Badawczy, Instytut Geofizyki Polskiej Akademii Nauk and PESA.
Nevertheless, the competition was high, the 19th edition of the Polish Product of the Future has brought the victory to Mostostal Warszawa in the category: scientific organization - consortium for the composite bridge. This innovative road bridge was created in the scope of the project Com-bridge, which was realized by consortium led by Mostostal Warszawa. The bridge designed in the project Com-bridge was created despite the lack of generally established standards for composite constructions. Therefore it was necessary to perform a numerous research on composite materials, bridge elements and finally to apply test load. The results confirmed high rigidity, persistence and above all high degree of safety of its structure. The project Com-bridge created a cradle for plastic materials and demonstrated the maturity of composite bridges technology.
The results of the competition were announced during official gala which was held on 30 November. The laureates were rewarded by the chairman of PARP, Patrycja Klarecka. She underlined that solutions with the title of the Polish Product of the Future achieve great success, included commercial success. This is also confirmed by awards collected on the international fairs of innovativeness, Economic Award of the President of the Republic of Poland and international rankings of innovation.In addition, Ministry of Development and Finances and Deputy Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki congratulated the winners and noted that strengthening the cooperation between business and science is the best way to develop innovative economy and increase the competitiveness on the global scale.
– There is a reason why fundamental pillars of the Plan for Sustainable Development involves a development of innovative companies. Polish enterprises should be strong in every field of industry but is also necessary to specialize ourselves, especially in those disciplines which take advantage of modern technologies. I have no doubt that innovativeness is the key to the competitiveness of our economy – pointed out ministry Morawiecki.
Jacek Szymanek, Member of the Board for Management and Administration collected the award on behalf for Mostostal Warszawa.In the event participated also specialists from Department of Research and Development involved in the project: Juliusz Żach, Head of Research and Development and Lech Własak, Chief Specialist for Research and Development.
– In our company work highly qualified specialists of a different profile who handled successfully an innovative project that involved a serious risk of failure. The construction of the bridge in Błażowa is an achievement on the global scale. There is only a few such bridges in the world and soon a newly built composite bridge in Nowa Wieś will be joining them. The Polish Product of the Future award proves company’s leading role in promoting innovation in the construction industry. Additionally, thanks to PARP’s support, we will be enabled promoting better and disseminating wider the technology of constructing composite bridges. No other construction company can offer such innovation. It is something worth to be proud – highlighted Jacek Szymanek, Member of the Board for Management and Administration.
PARPS’s award constitutes the most prestigious distinction for creators of innovative products which have a potential to mark its presence on the market. The winners, apart from being rewarded, will receive support from the Agency in the promotional and advertising activities such as presentations at the international fairs and exhibitions across the country and abroad. The Polish Product of the Future competition is organized since 1997. Since 2002 the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development is a host of the event. The awards are being awarded in three categories: product of the future – scientific organization, product of the future – entrepreneurs and product of the future – consortium.
