About the Library

The Municipal Public Library called Mediateka was established on Post-Franciscan plaza in Piotrków Trybunalski. The Mediateka was created by the Warsaw Design Office of General Construction Budopol S.A. In the architect's plan, the building is to resemble an open book. The most attractive part of the building is facing the Old Town. In addition to the library, Mediateka is at the same time place for integration, meetings, culture and science events with a similar role to the Warsaw Copernicus Science Center.

As part of the task, Mostostal Warszawa built a three-storey building. There are administration and management rooms on the ground floor. The public library is located on the ground floor and part of the first floor, and some of the space has been devoted to the promotion of science in the form of interactive exhibitions and workshops. The building also includes a reading room, an antique shop and a café with a summer garden with a castle viewscape. In the reading room you will be able to organize small artistic events such as concerts, film screenings, conferences, meetings and premieres. There is a car park in the underground, as well as technical rooms and a storage reserve.
