Mostostal Warszawa together with Acciona in support of PPP in Poland

Representatives of Spain and Poland team up today in the Ministry of Development to talk about the development of public-private partnership in our country. A roundtable seminar titled Polish and Spanish experience in PPP is organised in cooperation with Mostostal Warszawa. 

Today, in the headquarters of the Ministry of Development by the Plac Trzech Krzyży is held a conference titled Polish and Spanish experience in PPP. The event is organised by the Embassy of Spain in Poland and under the honorary patronage of the Ministry of Development. Further, the conference is also held under the patronage and with the participation of Mostostal Warszawa which main shareholder is Spanish concern Acciona.

At the invitation of the organizers in the discussion about infrastructure participates Alberto Salamanca Ozamiz, Deputy Global Head of Business Development at Acciona Concessions (representing Mostostal Warszawa) who will share knowlegde and experience about PPP in transport and social infrastructure. Acciona Concessions is the investment arm of the Acciona Group dedicated to PPP projects with an overall portfolio of 23 assets worldwide.

On behalf of Mostostal Warszawa the event also attend: Jorge Calabuig Ferre (Member of the Board for Business Development), Sławomir Barczak (Director of Infrastructure), Marcin Pomorski (Head of Financial Risk Management), Juliusz Żach (Head of Research and Development Department) and Roberto Jimenez Estudillo (Coordinator of Tender Process).

The programme of the event was based on the list of projects announced by the Ministry of Development. It includes over 100 projects destined to be realised with the participation of private capital. The debate will be focusing on three main topics: advantages and challenges of PPP, PPP in infrastructure and PPP in other projects. Bartosz Korbus, Director for Development and Strategy at Institute for PPP is the moderator of the meeting.

During roundtable debates representatives of the Ministry of Development, Polish and Spanish administration, Polish and Spanish companies and experts from different industries can share their experience and ideas, exchange best practices and solutions in the realisation of PPP projects.

Spain has over 40 years of experience in realisation and management of public and private partnership projects. So far, the Spanish companies have realised in cooperation with private partners 160 project worth over € 34 billion. Spanish companies are among the leader concessionaries in the world. In Poland, Ministry of Development has taken steps to promote public-private investments in the frame of Responsible Development Plan. It should be expected there will be less EU funds invested in Poland by 2020. Hence, the necessity to seek for new sources of financing investments in the country.
