On June 27, 2025, Mostostal Warszawa signed a contract for the implementation of the project entitled “Modernization and Expansion of the Former Światowid Cinema Building for the Needs of the New Huta Museum.” The contract includes comprehensive construction and conservation work with a total value of PLN 60,177,750 gross.

The new headquarters of the New Huta Museum is expected to become a modern and accessible cultural venue, close to the residents of the district and the entire city of Kraków. The project is co-financed by the European Union under Priority VII Culture, Measure 7.1: Cultural and Cultural Tourism Infrastructure of the “European Funds for Infrastructure, Climate, Environment 2021–2027” Program, as well as by the Municipality of Kraków.

Scope of work

Mostostal Warszawa is the General Contractor for construction and conservation work at the former Światowid cinema located at os. Centrum E 1. The scope of the contract includes:

  • Expanding the underground part of the building by approximately 1,700 m²
  • Constructing rooftop terraces
  • Carrying out full-scale construction and conservation work, including all building installations (electrical, sanitary, ventilation, air conditioning)
  • Installation of window and door joinery, flooring, sanitary fittings
  • Renovation of the building’s façade
  • Landscaping of the surrounding area (including driveway and parking spaces)
  • Execution of all utility connections and technical infrastructure in line with the design documentation

The contractor will also be responsible for preparing all necessary documentation required for final inspections and obtaining the occupancy permit.

As the former Światowid cinema is listed in the register of historical monuments, all work will be carried out under the supervision of the City Heritage Conservator.

The renovation and modernization of the New Huta Museum headquarters is expected to take 30 months, with completion scheduled by December 31, 2027. An additional three months are allocated for obtaining necessary approvals and permits.

Long-Term Presence in the Małopolska Region

Mostostal Warszawa has been actively contributing to the development of Kraków and the Małopolska region for years. Completed projects include facilities for the AGH University of Science and Technology, the Przyzby-Zalesie municipal housing estate, modernization of the Kraków Główny railway station, reconstruction of the Gabriel Narutowicz Hospital, and construction of the Cargo Terminal at the Kraków-Balice Airport. The company also served as the general contractor for the Tauron Arena.

Mostostal Warszawa’s strong position in the region is supported by its local office and teams familiar with the city's specific needs. The projects it implements respond to real demands of residents and are aligned with Kraków's urban development.
