Mostostal Warszawa to build municipal public library in Piotrków Trybunalski
On September 27, 2017, Central Branch of Mostostal Warszawa signed an agreement worth PLN 33 million for the construction of the public library in Piotrkow Trybunalski. The two-storey building of the library will house an auditorium, antiquarian bookstore and library café. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2018.
On behalf of Mostostal Warszawa, the agreement signed Dariusz Jarek, Director, General Construction Division and Artur Soczewica, Director of Central Branch at Mostostal Warszawa. Adam Krzewnik, Deputy President of the City of Piotrkow Trybunalski represented the Ordering Party.
– New municipal public library will be built for the City of Piotrków Trybunalski. In the scope of the agreement, Mostostal Warszawa is going to erect a two-storey book-shaped building. This is another contract of Mostostal Warszawa in the Łodzkie Voivodeship. Not so far ago, we’ve completed office building Crosspoint D there. Currently, intensive work is underway on the next stage of Crosspoint B building. We've also submitted the most advantageous bid for the revitalization of the Center of Łódź – reconstruction project no. 3. We participate in numerous tender proceedings in the region as we are strived to strengthen our position in this part of the country – said Dariusz Jarek, Director, General Construction Division, Mostostal Warszawa.
The library building is shaped like an open book thanks to the compositional breaks within the façade, a significant feature that symbolically encourages to start reading. The most attractive part of the building toward old town will assure the contact of the interior with outside areas through a fully gazed elevation.
– The main function of the building is a library localised on the ground floor and on the first floor. The upper storey will be also available for interactive exhibitions and workshops in order to promote science. Further, on the ground floor will be grouped administration rooms and offices. The building will accommodate auditorium, antiquarian bookstore and a cafe with an outdoor garden overlooking a castle. The auditorium is adapted to organize small artistic events such as concerts, film screenings, conferences and premieres. It is a very demanding project. I’m glad that experienced team headed by Arkadiusz Biniek is going to realise it – adds Artur Soczewica, Director of Central Branch of Mostostal Warszawa.
Parking places for 50 cars and 5 monocycles, technical facilities and books depository will be situated on the underground storey.
The total area of the building amounts to 7 447.87 m2, including 1 900 m2 devoted to development. For the realization of the contract is responsible Central Branch of Mostostal Warszawa headed by Artur Soczewica. Arkadiusz Biniek was appointed Contract Director of the contract worth PLN 32 942 965.3 gross, and Marek Kęsy – Site Manager. The construction is foreseen to be completed in November 2018.
