Mostostal Warszawa tells about modern construction

02 November 2015

The second edition of Scientific and Technical Conference titled: „Modern materials, technics and technologies in modern construction” has been recently completed. On behalf of Mostostal Warszawa Krzysztof Mamuszka was among the experts who presented innovative solutions in Polish construction.

The experts on construction met at the conference, which was held on 21-23 October, to present and talk through the newest engineering and material solutions used in construction and to take a look at how innovative methods are being implemented at building sites. The conference was also a perfect opportunity for profesional discussion and exchange of experiences.

At the invitation of Polish Association of Civil Engineers and Technicians site manager Krzysztof Mamuszka from South Branch of Mostostal Warszawa participated in session dedicated to modern technologies of construction. Using example of construction on cracovian Tauron Arena hall talked, among other things, about pioneer design solutions used by Mostostal Warszawa in roof construction and about challanges engineers and constructors had to deal with.

"The installation of sport-performance hall’s roofing of such a size was for us a real challenge. The main structure supporting the roof of the main hall consists of 40 girders of supporting beam, stretched between the inner steel rings (upper and lower) and the outer reinforced concrete ring. The dome shaped roof has a diameter axial 128.40 and its highest point is located 41 m above the plate arena. With range and altitude so large the construction required the use of complex montage techniques and protection against external factors. Working at heights was also difficult, because part of the works took place in winter. Thanks to the knowledge, creativity and experience of our team we have created one of the most modern, multifunctional facilities in Europe. Together we want to build the future and to achieve that we are not afraid to act unconventionally"- summed up Krzysztof Mamuszka.

The Tauron Arena construction in Cracow was also appreciated by the organizers of the conference in june 2015. For the thoughtful and measured design of cracovian hall, Polish Association of Civil Engineers and Technicians (PZITB) awarded Mostostal Warszawa with the title of Building of the Year 2014 in the category "Sports Facilities".

The Scientific-Technical Conference TECH-BUD'2015: "Modern materials, techniques and technologies in modern construction" is organized by the Malopolska Department of Polish Association of Civil Engineers and Technicians. The honorary patronage over the event exercised this year: the Ministry of Infrastructure and Development, Cracow University of Technology, the Marshal of the Malopolska Region and Malopolska Regional Chamber of Civil Engineers. This was another event recorded in the history of the Polish engineering thought with participation of Mostostal Warszawa.
