The contracted steel structure amounts to 29 000 tons and the gross value of the concluded agreements exceeds the PLN 230 million mark.

The construction of Opole Power Plant power units run by Mostostal Warszawa is not slowing down – after completing unit 5 foundation slab concreting works ahead of the schedule and upon concreting the walls of the last of the four communication pylons, the time came to contract delivery and assembly of the steel structures. A project of this magnitude required diversification of deliveries from various subcontractors. Under the agreements of May 6, the majority of the works will be completed by the Mostostal Warszawa SA Capital Group, i.e. Mostostal Kielce SA and Mostostal Płock SA. Other suppliers include Mostostal Słupca Sp. z o.o. Sp. J. and Vitkovice Power Engineering, a.s. In addition, Mostostal Kielce will also complete the assembly works for the boiler's support structure, including the grate and part of the boiler building structure.
Under the agreements, delivery of steel structures will commence in July of 2015 and will last until January of 2017. Total contracted steel structures will amount to approx. 29 000 tons. The total gross amount of the concluded agreements will exceed the PLN 230 million mark. On behalf of Mostostal, the agreement was signed by Jose Angel Andres Lopez, Vic-Chairman of the Production Board and Carlos Resino Ruiz, Member of the Financial Board.

„The works run by Mostostal Warszawa are ahead of the schedule; recently, we finished two of the key project stages, i.e. concreting of unit 5 foundation slab and load-bearing walls of the last of four communication pylons. Numbers speak for the size of the project: during five days of intensive works, the 78m x 83m foundation slab was filled with a 3 – 3,8m thick concrete layer. Concreting the last of four pylons took a total of 38 "net" days and the average speed of slip was 3,42 m/day – this is really something to be proud of as concreting and other works completed ahead of the schedule are currently the most extensive works of this type across Europe," says Paweł Żbikowski, Project Manager on behalf of Mostostal Warszawa Group.

The year 2015 is the time of intensive expansion works at the Opole Power Plant. In 2016, assembly works will take over, inter alia, in the boiler room, boiler pressure section and unit's external systems.

„Due to intensive construction works at the Opole Power Plant, we will outsource the assembly of the remaining unit 5 and 6 steel structure section. At present, we are concluding negotiations concerning the assembly of the initial part of the boiler pressure section. We estimate that the subcontractor selection process will end within the next few days." - Waldemar Borowiecki, Opole Project Deputy Manager, Production Manager.
