27 October 2020

Mostostal Warszawa, as one of the five Polish large companies, increased Poland's participation in the Horizon 2020 program the most. In 2014-2020, we obtained almost EUR 2.3 million for the development of intelligent construction.

In the EU research and innovation program which is just about to end, Poland obtained EUR 660 million. This is two-thirds more than in the corresponding period of its previous edition (2007-2013), according to an analysis prepared by the National Contact Point for Research Programs of the European Union. Over the last six years, as many as 832 Polish entities have used it, i.e. half more than in the years 2007-2013. Large companies, including Mostostal Warszawa, obtained a total of EUR 56 million, which is half more than in the previous edition of the framework programs.

- For 15 years we have been participating in the framework programs of the European Union, thanks to which we can create innovative technologies in the construction sector. The projects we carry out are related to building materials, energy efficiency and digitization. In this respect, a special role is played by BIM (Building Information Modeling) technology, which enables continuous and immediate access to information about the project, its costs and schedules. In the construction sector, the use of this building management system is an obvious development path. Participation in the Horizon 2020 program allowed us to finance many projects consistent with our development strategy on the market and in line with global trends in the field of intelligent construction - says Jacek Szymanek, Member of the Management Board of Mostostal Warszawa.

For the years 2021-27, the European Commission has prepared further funds for investments in research and innovation. A total of approximately EUR 90 billion will be distributed.
