The Conference Innovations in Bridge Construction, which major sponsor is Mostostal Warszawa, will be entirely dedicated to bridge engineering. This was, and still is, one of the most innovative areas of polish economy since transformation. Many of the bridges in our country are modern. Their creators are Polish bridge engineers supported by Polish scientists. Numerous examples testify that innovative potential of polish bridge companies and scientific institutions is high. The meeting will be an opportunity to present innovative ideas, to decide whether new materials and technologies will be only a transient „fashion” or will become standard practice in a wide range of commonly used solutions and also to discuss joint research and development projects realized by consortia type business-science.

Achievements of Department of Research and Development in Mostostal Warszawa were apreciated by the organizers of the conference who decided that one of the discussing sessions will be entirely dedicated to the project of construction of the first bridge in Poland – and one of the few road bridges in the world – made of FRP composites (eng. Fiber Reinforced Polymer). Apart from details of the project, engineers will show a road bridge element made from composites, and will talk through its construction. Everyone interested in the Com-bridge project will have an opportunity to come to the construction site and to get a close look at the progress being made.
