The train wash is a year-round facility for washing the exteriors of trains. The wash hall, approximately 200 meters long, is equipped with self-propelled portals with brushes and nozzles along the track lines.
The investment also included an anti-icing system to protect the undercarriages of rail vehicles from snow and ice buildup.
Ecological Project
The facility is equipped with a wastewater treatment plant with a closed-loop system for technological water, allowing for multiple reuse of wash water, as well as a rainwater collection system. Photovoltaic panels were installed on the roof of the technical room to produce electricity for the building's own needs.
The construction of the train wash cost over 33 million PLN and is part of the EU project "On Track for Better Connections – Modernization of Wagons and Locomotives for PKP Intercity S.A.," implemented under the Operational Program Infrastructure and Environment 2014-2020.
