Mostostal Warszawa SA will build a new training and administration building for Polish Air Navigation Services Agency.

Mostostal Warszawa SA will build a new training and administration building for Polish Air Navigation Services Agency.

A new administration and training facility will be built at Okęcie International Airport. In addition to lecture, test, archive, server rooms, and an underground garage, the facility will accommodate a TWR 360 air traffic control tower simulator with an omnidirectional observation system and radar, a radio communication system set on platforms located at the highest points of the roof, and an advanced safety system.

"A PLN 57,6 million contract was signed today between Mostostal Warszawa and Polish Air Navigation Services Agency. It includes the construction of training [&] administration building, including an underground parking lot with 31 parking spaces, connectors between the designed building and the current Air Traffic Control Center. The scope of works covers also the completion of main power supply building, rainwater emergency reservoir, technical infrastructure, including a ground parking lot with 25 parking spaces as well as sidewalks, internal roads, etc," explains Alojzy Malczak, General Construction Division Manager at Mostostal Warszawa SA.

Providing modern conditions for training air traffic controllers is the main objective behind construction of this facility. The building will accommodate, inter alia: Aviation Training Center fitted with two state-of-the-art air traffic control simulators and professional lecture rooms for air traffic control candidates also designed to improve competences of employees holding KRL license. The building will also include radio communication equipment and weather service rooms and devices. Energy-saving technical solutions will be applied in the new facility and it will be connected with Air Traffic Control Center (presently PAŻP headquarters).

"The architectural design provides for dividing the facility into two 4-storey bodies shifted in relation to each other. The bodies will be connected with an elevator shaft. The northern wing ground floor outline will extend beyond the upper floors to form a west-side terrace. A dynamic body of the TWR360 hall will complement the entire design," adds Artu Soczewica, Central Division Manager in charge of the project at Mostostal Warszawa SA.
