Mostostal Warszawa completed the modernization of Hotel Katowice
The building, which underwent a comprehensive transformation after nearly 60 years of operation, has returned to the city map as a four-star premium hotel under the voco brand. The investment amounted to PLN 130.28 million gross.
- This project was more than just a hotel modernization for us. We put care into preserving the local heritage, combining history with modernity. We are proud that, as Mostostal Warszawa, we were able to use our experience to deliver one of the key investments for Katowice - said Marcin Sierpowski, Western Region Director at Mostostal Warszawa.
The scope of work included, among other things, the reconstruction of the interior, modernization of the building’s systems, and full adaptation of the facility to meet the standards of contemporary tourism and the business-class hotel market.
Despite the extensive redevelopment, the distinctive spirit of the 1960s was preserved. Many original architectural details and the historic façade were restored. The iconic “Hotel Katowice” neon – one of the city’s most recognizable symbols – was also returned to the rooftop.
