Mostostal Warszawa received recognition for innovative composite application in the bridge construction. The company as the only one construction enterprise in Poland offers construction of road bridges from composite prefabricates. Innovative composite beam forms part of the Com-bridge project which was piloted by Mostostal Warszawa and which co-created Promost Consulting company from Rzeszów, Rzeszów University of Technology and Warsaw University of Technology. The projects introduced new standards for bridge construction. FRP girders used for the construction of two prototype bridges – in Błażowa and Nowa Wieś. The first one is a record breaking structure in span length while the second bridge is completely made of composite material (both bridge deck and girders made of FRP composite). President of the Management Board of Mostostal Warszawa Andrzej Goławski and Juliusz Żach, Head of Research and Development Department attended the festive ceremony of the 28th edition of the European Medal competition which was held on June 7, 2017, in the Reduta Rooms of Warsaw’s Grand Theatre – National Opera.

Construction of the composite bridge is one of the effects of our work and company’s engagement in the scientific and research area. We are the first construction company in Poland that launched research and development department. Teams of our engineers is constantly cooperating with the most important research facilities in the country and abroad – said Andrzej Goławski, President of the Management Board Mostostal Warszawa.

The technology for building composite bridges with the use of prototype girder developed by the Research and Development Department is one of the most distinguishing achievements in the construction sector that has been recently presented. The historical importance of the Com-bridge project, as well as construction of two unique bridges, is best proven by the acknowledgement of the construction community. For the development of the innovative building technology, the company has received seven prestigious awards as follows: Top Builder 2017, Golden Laurel of Innovation 2016, Good Design 2016, Bridge Work of the Year 2016, the main prize in the Polish Product of the Future 2016, the first prize in the Maksymilian Wolf competition, Construction of the Year 2015 in Podkarpacie.  

The European Medal is a non-commercial project, issued in order to support Polish products and services in the European market. It is aimed at recognising and promoting products and services of a standard matching that of Europe’s best products. A product (or a service) nominated for the award has to meet the legal requirements, hold the relevant licenses and patents. In addition, company’s performance, awards and certificates also are taken into account.
