Mostostal Warszawa awarded NATO classified contract

Mostostal Warszawa in consortium with Mostostal Płock is to build and modernise fuel and lubricants warehouse (MPS-1) in Powidz in the Wielkopolskie voivodeship. Consortium’s tender was considered the most advantageous in the international competitive bidding which NATO Defence Investment Division (ZIOTP) issued at the request of Ministry of National Defence. The contract value amounts to more than PLN 33 million gross.

On behalf of Mostostal Warszawa project will execute Western Division, Industry and Environment Protection. The scope of work under the agreement encompasses primarily construction and assembly work of the buildings that will form part of the MPS-1 facility along with delivery of fuel system components indicated by the Employer. Besides, the consortium will be responsible for organising investment area, including tree cuttings and new plantings to compensate for tree losses, disassembly of the existing infrastructure in the warehouse complex in Powidz. The consortium is also obliged to provide associated services in order to deliver fully-operating facility.

The tender was conducted in accordance with the provisions of international competitive bidding included in NATO – AC/4-D/2261. We had to meet a number of conditions to participate in the procedure, including solicitation of the declaration of competence. It is a document granted by the Ministry of Development for a single use, in relation to the particular action. During construction of lubricants and fuels warehouse complex in Powidz we will have access to classified information, marked both restricted and NATO RESTRICTED, and thus, this impose on us more stringent duties – said Marzena Witkowska, Director of Western Division Industry and Environment Protection.

Mostostal Warszawa is experienced in the execution of military contracts. The company is in the middle of construction in the complex in Redzikowo. In the past, Mostostal Warszawa acted as general contractor of the reconstruction of sports and indoor swimming pool in the military division in Mrągowo, and of the construction of garages and maneuver area in Braniewo.
