Mostostal Warszawa at the Construction in Poland Forum

11 October 2017

More than 140 participants, more than 30 experts, 4 thematic sessions will provide an opportunity to assess the situation in the construction sector. This is a preview of the Construction 2018 in Poland Forum, which will be held on 12 October in Warsaw. The meeting of industry leaders is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Construction. The Polish Association of Construction Industry Employers is also a partner of the event. An active participant in the expert debate will be the President of the Management Board of Mostostal Warszawa Andrzej Goławski.

This industry event of the year is not just the premiere of the latest PMR report ‘Construction sector in Poland 2nd half of 2017 - Development forecasts for the years 2017-2022’ and the results of the research conducted for its needs, but above all substantial discussion and exchange of opinions among representatives of companies that have the greatest impact on shape and future of this market.

Among the experts of the forum will appear, among others, prof. Grzegorz Kołodko, Krzysztof Kondraciuk (General Director of National Roads and Motorways). At the invitation of the organizers in the discussion session with the participation of key contractors of the Polish construction market will be attended by the President of the Management Board of Mostostal Warszawa Andrzej Goławski. The debate will be focused on the theme: ‘Investment acceleration – moderate optimism or strong growth? Forecasts, strategies and threats for the industry’. The discussion will cover four main areas, including the most promising segments of the construction market over the next two years, employment issues, price competitiveness and financial performance of contractors.

Participants of the Forum will have the opportunity to verify the forecasts and results of the PMR survey conducted among high-level management personnel and operational divisions of the 200 largest Polish construction companies, where as many as three quarters of the largest construction companies operating on the Polish market declare that were affected by increase of prices of building materials in 2017.What is more, a similar percentage of the surveyed companies forecast further price increases. The increase in the cost of execution and the rapidly growing orders portfolio of construction companies cause that intensive price competition on the Polish construction market becomes a thing of the past. The rise in prices of services is for the construction industry the only way to escape the coming erosion of margins. Companies that have not yet noticed this may soon disappear from the market, PMR experts predict.

‘The Construction in Poland Forum gathers together every year the industry decision makers, presidents and members of executive boards, developers, distributors of building materials and financial institutions. The meeting of the leading representatives of the construction industry is an opportunity to summarize, examine the condition of the market, and in particular provide the most up-to-date market data that helps to broaden perspective and to make reliable forecasts and assess the consequences of changes in the sector’, says Andrzej Goławski, President of Mostostal Warszawa.

The Forum will be inaugurated by the lecture of Professor Grzegorz W. Kolodko on the most important macroeconomic changes and prospects for the development of the Polish economy. The premiere of the latest industry report Construction sector in Poland II half of 2017 - Development forecasts for 2017-2022 will be launched during the event. The report is based on a survey conducted among high-level management personnel and operational divisions of the largest Polish construction companies. Participants of the forum will be the first to know the details of this analysis.
