Mostostal Warszawa as member of the Foundation buildingSMART Poland

Six building companies inaugurated in November a cooperation on the development of the BIM technology on the Polish market by establishing a foundation buildingSMART Poland. Mostostal Warszawa become one of the founders. The company once again joined initiative encouraging the development of innovations in the country.

The objectives of the Foundation include the development of the basic principles of the functioning of the organisation for entities operating in the construction industry which integrates activities related to BIM technology at both the national and international level. buildingSMART is an independent international non-profit organisation setting trends for the digitalisation development in the construction industry by means of defining open international standards for information sharing. The Founders have been united by the values and aims of buildingSMART as well as openBIM idea coupled with the willingness to cooperate in the area of construction industry digitalisation.

‘The BIM technology is the future of construction industry and is growing at a very fast pace. It has significant potential for improving many construction processes. Once again, we are among the initiators of activities that shape the future of the Polish construction market. We set the foundations for an open house for BIM in our country’, said Andrzej Goławski, President of the Board of Mostostal Warszawa.

During the last few years, Mostostal Warszawa, as part of its research projects, analyzed the possibilities of using BIM technology. In 2016, when signals from the market started showing interest in ordering this technology, the Management Board of the Company decided to create a BIM Team in the Research and Development Department, which is currently preparing the implementation of this technology. We are very pleased that the building market is moving towards digitization’, said Juliusz Żach, Head of the Research and Development Department, who signed the founding act on behalf of Mostostal Warszawa.

The Programme Committee of the Foundation shall consult the Foundation’s operations with the representatives of the government and non-government organisations. The Founders’ Board, Management Board, and Operational Team are the bodies of the Foundation. The members of the Founders’ Board are the presidents of the Founders’ companies, namely: Robert Protyński (ELECTRA M[&]E Polska), Maciej Kopański (ENGIE Technika Instalacyjna), Henryk Liszka (HOCHTIEF Polska),  Andrzej Goławski (MOSTOSTAL Warszawa) , Zbigniew Zajączkowski (MOTA-ENGIL Central Europe), Jerzy Werle (WARBUD).

The following persons are the members of the Management Board of the Foundation: Klaus Boede (president), Adam Glema (vice-president), Jerzy Rusin (vice-president), Leszek Włochyński (vice-president). The following persons have been appointed members of the interdisciplinary Operational Team: Wojciech Kalisz, Konrad Majewski, Kamil Stolarski, Tomasz Żychiewicz.
