Mostostal Warszawa as a sponsor of XIII RDPE Conference
XIII Research and Development in Power Engineering Conference took place between November 28 and December 1, 2017, in Warsaw. The event was held under the auspices of the rector of Warsaw University of Technology. This event, organized every second year has become a leading forum for the power sector employees and scientists. This is a place where academics can exchange their knowledge with the power sector representatives and present what they have in offer for them.
Institute of Heat Engineering of WUT and Institute of Applied Science of WUT Ltd. organizes together with the Committees on Energy, Thermodynamics and Combustion, Polish Academy of Sciences and in agreement with the Polish Chamber of Power Industry and Environmental Protection the Research and Development in Power Engineering Conference. Subjects addressed at the Conference include:
- technical and financial aspects of retrofitting and reconstruction in the power sector
- mathematical modelling of thermal and flow processes
- scientific views on operation of power installations
- nuclear energy issues
Mostostal Warszawa has been related to energy engineering for decades. At the turn of the years, the company executed orders for major power producers, permanently building the national achievements in one of the key branches of the economy. The list of completed projects comprises several facilities, in which solutions were applied that were innovative for the period and also in the scale of the whole country.
Recently three employees have been honoured by high state medals for exceptional achievements and contribution in the development of Polish energy engineering. The Bronze Cross of Merit of the President of the Republic of Poland was awarded to Paweł Żbikowski, Director of Power Engineering and Industry. On the other hand Jarosław Żemła (Director of Installation and Commissioning and Waldemar Borowiecki Deputy Project Director for Production Preparation (both working on the site of power units in Opole) - have been distinguished by the Minister of Energy by the honorary distinction of “Merits for Power Engineering” for its merits for Polish power engineering.
Nowadays, Mostostal Warszawa is completing the construction of power units 5. and 6. in Opole Power Plant and is participating in consortium with Acciona Industrial and Doosan Heavy Industries in the tender for the construction of Ostrołęka C, a unit with a capacity of 1000 MW in Ostrołęka Power Plant.
