The aim of the event is to promote modern sites, Polish architecture and cities. The competition is carried out with active support from Marshall Offices. This year’s gala took place on 15 November in the Zamoyski Palace in Warsaw. The prize for Mostostal Warszawa was received by Andrzej Goławski, President of the Board.
Mostostal Warszawa was distinguished for active operations related to execution of sports and recreational sites in Poland. What was recognised was solid workmanship and complex designs, which the company has been implementing for years. Both construction of modern infrastructure in cities and regional projects contribute to the development of sport and recreation among children, teenagers and local communities.
“Sport informs character and teaches discipline for life. Thanks to us, the sports map of Poland has been enriched with spectacular buildings, which gather large audiences, attracting both experienced athletes, and young enthusiasts of sport. They include centres used by schools and local communities. And such places where thousands of spectators watch football matches, sports competitions of international importance. Building those magnificent sites, we provided people with multitude of positive emotions and gave them an opportunity to develop their sports careers. I am extremely happy that Mostostal Warszawa has been appreciated for that contribution into the development of Polish sport,” commented Andrzej Goławski, President of the Board of Mostostal Warszawa.
The list of sports sites executed by the company include sites like City Stadium in Tychy, Tauron Arena in Cracow, Atlas Arena in Łódź, Water Park in Tychy (under construction), indoor sports and entertainment venue in Jastrzębie Zdrój, ice rink in Torwar, as well as smaller sports projects, such as recreational and sports centres, swimming pools, or sports dormitories.
What is an additional success is the distinction for a building recently built by the company – the hall of the Regional Sports Centre in Zakopane. That sports and entertainment complex was opened in September 2016 with the participation of winter sports stars, including Justyna Kowalczyk and the team of ski jumpers. It is currently the highest-located roofed sports site in Poland and the first project of this sort at the base of the Polish Tatra Mountains. The building meets both the conditions of execution of a training and team sports centre, and the requirements for organisation of cultural events or trade fairs. It holds the certificate of the Centre for Energy Efficient Buildings in Lesser Poland.
