Mostostal Warszawa took the floor at the European Economic Congress
On May 10-12, was held the 9th edition of European Economic Congress (EEC) and gathered 700 speakers from across the country and abroad. During a session about construction sector, Andrzej Goławski, President of Management Board of Mostostal Warszawa assessed the possible direction for the development of energy and industrial construction. Meanwhile, Juliusz Żach, Head of Research and Development, discussed cooperation between science and business.
EEC gathers a number of significant partners and sponsors and that shows how much recognition it has among key players of the Polish economy, business and public administration. List of companies and institutions engaged in the organisation of the event included e.g.: Polski Fundusz Rozwoju, PGNiG, ORLEN, Grupa PKP, Enea, Microsoft, KPMG, PWC, PARP, ARP. Among participants were leading Polish politics including the Prime Minister Beata Szydło.
Mostostal Warszawa participated in the congress as a partner of the event and a partner of two important sessions. The main topic of the first one was construction. It was held on May 11th. President of the Management Board – Andrzej Goławski who attended this debate, spoke about perspectives for the development of the industry and energy construction, assessed present situation on the construction market and also said what influence can have restrictive EU policy on the execution of new coal-fired power units in Poland. What is more, he spoke about specifics of work in the construction sector, growing demand for the specialists on the threshold of technologically advanced investments.
Anna Glanowska-Szpor, managing director of construction sector at ING Bank Śląski SA moderated the debate. The interesting discussion also assisted: Tomasz Żuchowski (undersecretary in the Ministry of Infrastructure and Construction), Piotr Janiszewski (President of Management Board of Skanska SA), Ernest Jelito (President of Management Board of Górażdże Cement SA), Marcin Krakowiak (chief in the DZP law firm), Michał Sapota (President of Management Board of Murapol SA).
Next day, during the session 'Science for industry – changes are coming', participants could learn a lot about the system of industrial science, the role of the National Institute of Technology and to listen to expert opinions about the destiny of public research institutes. The debate attended Juliusz Żach, Head of Research and Development at Mostostal Warszawa, and also representatives of such scientific institutions, organisations, and companies as PKN ORLEN SA, KGHM Polska Miedź SA, the Polish Federation ofEngineering Associations (NOT), chancellor of the Katowice University of Technology and undersecretary in the Ministry of Development. Ryszard Pregiel, president of the Polish Chamber of Commerce for High Technology moderated the discussion.
During the congress, besides lectures, discussions, meetings, was held a presentation of the report about Polish economy in which one can read about Mostostal Warszawa in the part dedicated to the construction industry. The publication was issued under the auspices of the Ministry of International Affairs.
