Cornerstone laid for the new building of the AGH University of Science and Technology!
Mostostal Warszawa has officially inaugurated construction of the new headquarters of Faculty of Computer Science, Electronics and Telecommunications in Krakow. The cornerstone for the new scientific and didactic building was laid in the presence of bishop Tadeusz Pieronek, Jarosław Gowin, Ministry of Science and Higher Education and prof. dr hab. Tadeusz Słomka, rector of the University of Science and Technology.
Southern Branch of Mostostal Warszawa headed by Janusz Stanaszek is general contractor of the AGH new facility. It will be erected at Czarnowiejska Street and will be linked with the Faculty of Applied Mathematics. The building of 2.228 m2 of the useful area will have four storeys. Its volume amount to 11.590 m3.
The construction work for the Faculty of Computer Science, Electronics and Telecommunications started in July. The groundbreaking ceremony took place on January 8, 2018. The event attended a.e. bishop Tadeusz Pireonek, Jarosław Gowin, Ministry of Science and Higher Education and Tadeusz Słomka, rector of the AGH University. On behalf of Mostostal Warszawa in the ceremony participated: Jorge Calabuig Ferre, Member of the Board for Business Development, Dariusz Jarek, Director of General Construction Area, Janusz Stanaszek, Director of Southern Branch and Artur Sikora (Contract Director), Mariusz Rudnik (Site Manager).
‘Faculty of Computer Science, Electronics and Telecommunications is another project of Mostosal Warszawa executed in the area of Czarnowiejska Street. For the AGH University, we constructed, among others, two prestigious and modern facilities – Center of Computer Science and Center of Energy (recognised in the competition Construction of the Year). We’re happy to co-create universities plans for development and to strengthen its potential in the field of science and education’, pointed out Jorge Calabuig Ferre, Member of the Management Board of Mostostal Warszawa.
The building which is to be erected at Czarnowiejska Street will provide the AGH students access to modern didactic rooms, innovative laboratories available for research. The investment will enhance quality of education, provide a proper technical facilities for the realisation of the most technologically advanced projects. At this point, lectures for students of faculties such as computer science, electronics and telecommunication are held in different locations. This is going to change as the new building opens. The potential of the faculty is best evidenced in the recognition of faculty of scientific category A given by Ministry of Science and Higher Education. Ministry also granted funds for construction of the new facility.
Mostostal Warszawa cooperates with universities also outside the Małopolskie Voivodeship. The company executes two significant projects in the area of science in Wielkopolska region. Mostostal Warszawa is general contractor of the almost zero-energy building of the Faculty of Architecture and Management Engineering and Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunication for the Poznań University of Technology.
The contract for the AGH University executes Southern Branch of Mostostal Warszawa under the supervision of Janusz Stanaszek. The Contract Director and Site Manager were appointed respectively: Artur Sikora and Mariusz Rudnik. The team on the site is also comprised of Krystyna Zaprzała (chief specialist for cost control and management), Jacek Ungeheuer (Work Manager), Jacek Wojtyła (Work Manager), Mateusz Węgrzynowicz (Work Manager), Grzegorz Kunicki (Work Manager).
