Cornerstone laid for Portowo Housing Estate in Poznań
On July 24, 2024, a cornerstone laying ceremony for the new Portowo housing estate took place in Poznań's Starołęka district. The event was attended by the Mayor of Poznań, representatives from Mostostal Warszawa, and the investor, Vastint Poland. Mostostal Warszawa is the general contractor for this project.
- Mostostal Warszawa is undertaking another investment for Vastint Poland and the city of Poznań. This time, we are demonstrating our commitment to the city's development by creating an impressive residential space along the Warta River. We have a proven team of top engineers who ensure the construction of the Portowo Estate is proceeding according to schedule - said Jacek Szymanek, Member of the Board of Mostostal Warszawa.
- This investment symbolizes a new stage in the revitalization of this part of the city, transforming a former port area into a modern and eco-friendly neighborhood. I am pleased that the development of this previously unused land will consider the natural features of the Warta River. Residents of Poznań will enjoy a new living space that encourages active time in nature and the nearby recreational areas - stated Mayor of Poznań, Jacek Jaśkowiak.
- We have laid the cornerstone for the first buildings of the Portowo estate. I see this as a successful start to a major investment we have awaited for many years, which will significantly enrich Poznań's housing market. The estate will be perfectly integrated into the riverside landscape of the Warta, and the standard of the apartments will satisfy even the most discerning residents of Poznań. We will create a comfortable and self-sufficient town in terms of commercial and service facilities, providing an ideal place to live - declared Roger Andersson, Managing Director of Vastint Poland.
- It is a great honor for us, along with Vastint Poland and the City, to have the opportunity to create a new part of Poznań. Our team approached the project holistically, with great care: from the urban scale to the smallest details. We look forward to the realization of the first phase of the investment: Instead of an abandoned, post-industrial, and neglected area, a place will emerge that properly utilizes its potential, where it will be pleasant to live and visit - said Szymon Wojciechowski, President of the Board, Partner at APA Wojciechowski Architects.
Portowo Housing Estate Investment
The first phase of Portowo will be developed on an extensive area of nearly 3.5 hectares. This part of the estate will consist of 11 multifamily buildings, set within walking and recreational spaces. All units will be available for long-term rental. The offer will include apartments of various sizes and functional layouts, designed in four unique styles by interior architects, fully furnished with beds, tables, chairs, sofas, and other amenities to ensure tenant comfort.
The ground floors of the buildings will feature commercial spaces, including shops, a kindergarten, and a health clinic. The investor has also planned large areas for playgrounds and green spaces. This part of the estate will be equipped with 356 parking spaces in underground garages, 45 external parking spaces, and 392 bicycle racks.
Sustainable Construction
Upon completion of construction, the investor plans to apply for LEED environmental certifications, confirming compliance with sustainable building criteria, including high energy efficiency of the buildings.
The architectural design of the estate was developed by the renowned firm APA Wojciechowski Architects.
The first phase of the estate is scheduled to be completed by 2026. The contract is valued at €48.8 million net (PLN 210.8 million net).
