Cornerstone ceremony held for the construction of the Poznan University of Technology's Rectorate

On October 9 of this year, the cornerstone ceremony took place for the new rectorate of the Poznan University of Technology. The general contractor for the project is Mostostal Warszawa.

The event was attended by Maria Mrówczyńska, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Mariusz Wiśniewski, Deputy Mayor of Poznań, Professor Teofil Jesionowski, Rector of the Poznan University of Technology, and Dr. Łukasz Kalupa, Chancellor of the University. Mostostal Warszawa was represented by the President of the Management Board, Jorge Calabuig Ferre.

- As Mostostal Warszawa, we are proud to be part of the development of the university campus. We are honored to collaborate with the Poznan University of Technology, whose educational activities play a key role in engineering education. It is important to us that this building will be nearly zero-energy, thanks to the use of the latest technologies - said Jorge Calabuig Ferre during the ceremony.

- Mostostal Warszawa has long been closely connected with Poznań. We have a permanent office for the Western Region here. We are executing several important projects for the city, including, in recent years, the adjacent buildings for the Faculty of Architecture and the Faculty of Management Engineering - he added.

Eco-Friendly Building

The new rectorate will be nearly zero-energy, utilizing the most advanced technological solutions available today for energy recovery.

- From geothermal boreholes for heating and cooling, the use of high-quality thermal insulation materials, to the installation of photovoltaic panels on the roof  - explained Bartosz Witasik, Contract Manager at Mostostal Warszawa.

The rectorate building will be located on the "Warta" campus, between the Center for Didactics of the Faculty of Chemical Technology and the buildings of the Faculty of Architecture and the Faculty of Management Engineering.

The building will have five floors, with over 5,500 square meters of usable space.

Construction began last year and is expected to last two years, with a project value of approximately PLN 95 million.
