Competition for the name of the TBM machine
The last stage of transport of the TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine) is underway, and it will bore a 2.2 km long tunnel on the S19 Rzeszów Południe-Babica expressway. According to tradition, we are looking for a name for our TBM. Therefore, together with the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways, we are announcing a competition.
We are waiting for your suggestions until November 23, 2022.
Conditions for participation:
In order to take part in the "Name the TBM machine" competition, you must send the proposed name (along with the name and surname of the reporting person) to the following address: nazwijTBM@gddkia.gov.pl by November 23, 2022. Importantly, according to tradition, the name should be feminine.
Each participant may submit only one entry, and only adults may participate in the Competition.

The course of the competition:
From among the submitted applications, the jury will select no more than six proposals, which will be put to the vote of Internet users. The vote will take place between November 28 and December 16, 2022. The name with the most votes will become the official "name" of the TBM. The committee will include representatives of GDDKiA, the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Contractor: Mostostal Warszawa and Acciona Construccion.
Participants whose proposed names will go to the second stage of the Competition will be able to visit the tunnel construction site on S19 Rzeszów Południe - Babica. They will also receive a set of promotional gifts from GDDKiA and the contractor of the investment (the consortium of Mostostal Warszawa and Acciona Construccion).
The competition results will be announced on December 21, 2022.
