80 years of Mostostal Warszawa – a journey through time
The year 2025 marks a special milestone for us – Mostostal Warszawa celebrates its 80th anniversary. The celebrations are ongoing, and one of their highlights is a series of publications that revisit the key moments in the company’s history – from its birth just after World War II to the modern projects shaping Poland’s landscape today.
Our story begins on May 28, 1945. In a devastated country, thanks to the initiative of engineers and visionaries determined to rebuild the capital, the Bridge and Steel Structure Construction Company Mostostal was founded. The company was established on the foundations of the pre-war enterprise K. Rudzki i S-ka, created by Kazimierz Rudzki – one of the fathers of the Polish construction industry.
Although its headquarters were initially located in Kraków, Mostostal Warszawa has been closely tied to Warsaw from the very beginning. As early as July 1945, work began on rebuilding the Józef Poniatowski Bridge – one of the city’s most important crossings. Thanks to the commitment of engineers and construction crews, the bridge was reopened to traffic on July 22, 1946.
And this is just the beginning of our journey. In the coming weeks, we will revisit more of Mostostal Warszawa’s landmark projects and achievements.
