Projects of Mostostal Warszawa
Renovation of the Perkuć weir and flood-gate with road bridges at 63+000 km of the Augustów Canal.
The implementation of the investment lasted nearly 2.5 years (05.2010 - 11.2012). The main goal of the renovation was to improve the technical condition of the weir design and adapt it to this type of buildings of the Augustów Canal, but also to restore its original historical form. The new elevation refers symbolically to national colours, and it is lined with red reinforced brick combined with white sandstone.
Thanks to the renovation the flood-gate has been adapted to contemporary regulations and needs, while limiting significant changes in the historical and aesthetic value of the building and its surroundings.
The tenth flood-gate on the Augustów Canal is a unique monument not only on the national scale, but also in Europe. It is the art of engineering in that period. It was built in the 1930's by 2nd Lt. Julian Piędzicki between Lake Krzywe and Lake Mikaszewo.
