Voting for Graduate with Passion of the University of Silesia

The University of Silesia in Katowice 50th anniversary is being celebrated and the celebrations are held under the patronage of Mostostal Warszawa. As part of the jubilee in November, the graduation ceremony for the best students will be held and the title Graduate with Passion of the Year 2017 will be awarded. We encourage you to vote for the nominees!

Mostostal Warszawa is supporting the anniversary of the University of Silesia in line with its commitment to the development of the academic world.  The company has been willing to engage in student initiatives for years. The company’s social activities are focused on science and education as the company is committed to enhancing the level of education and development of young talents. The graduation ceremony of the best graduates of the academic year 2016/2017 and the title "Graduate with Passion" in the fifth edition of the competition are events that mark the 50th anniversary of the university.

The University of Silesia in Katowice will award with the title Graduate with Passion for the fifth time. It will be given to a socially active person who is successful in his cultural, scientific or sports activities and is fully committed to his or her interests.

By this recognition, University of Silesia wants to promote achievements and passions of its graduates, regardless of the year in which they graduated. Magdalena Knapik, a graduate of the Faculty of Philology, is a laureate of the first edition of the "Graduate with Passion" competition and is currently an employee of the School of Polish Language and Culture. The second edition was won by Grzegorz Gawlik, a graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration, a traveller, a mountaineer, a journalist, a photographer and a lawyer. Paweł Bajtlik, a graduate of pedagogy and socio-cultural animation, organizer of sports events and promoter of activities won in 2015. Last year laureate of the title Graduate with Passion 2016 was Gabriella Bazan, a graduate of cultural studies at the Faculty of Philology. Gabriela Bazan's greatest passions are photography and film.

The title of this year's Graduate with Passion will be announced on 20th November at the graduation ceremony for the best graduates of the University of Silesia. There are eight candidates to win this recognition. You can cast your vote until November 19, 2017, no later than at 23.59 p.m. on the Gazeta Wyborcza website at http://katowice.wyborcza.pl/katowice/7,35063,22637797,web-web-website-a-pasja-uni-a-slaskiego-o-tytul.html. The plebiscite committee will award the title Graduate with Passion of the Year 2017 based on the number of the votes cast.
