We build the green future - Mostostal Warszawa committed to the environment
In the pursuit of sustainable development, Mostostal Warszawa conducts integrated educational activities. Company’s didactic and scientific initiatives developed in the area of ecology are aimed at shaping the responsible attitude of the young generation. Sustainability workshops that company’s volunteers give in schools represent a significant component of those activities. In June took place the next edition of the environmental classes for children aged from 6 to 10 years.
Education is the most effective way for fostering changes to the clean, green, eco-friendly future. For this purpose Mostostal Warszawa organised in primary schools Wolontariat Day, that is, sustainability workshops. Why? Because our company wants to promote good practices and build ecological awareness of the children aged from 6 to 10 years. In the perspective of environmental challenges facing the construction sector and the society, Mostostal Warszawa seeks to involve company’s employees to achieve the strategic priorities.
In the scope of the initiative, volunteers gave ecological classes in primary schools according to the specially designed lesson plan. The workshops were held upon the calling of four superheroes protecting the planet Earth: Water, Energy, Zero and Climate (Guardians of the Earth). The theme of the heroic characters with superpowers was introduced in order to explain easily a large number of concepts related to the sustainability.
Mostostal Warszawa’s volunteers gave two-hour classes in schools using original didactic materials, including the additional application with videos and quizzes as well as a specially prepared program of activities. The workshops were aimed at children to engage them in the planet’s sustainability and help them understand four of the Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the United Nations.
It seems like we’ve achieved our goal, as children were actively participating in the workshops and enjoyed doing all the tasks prepared. Eleven Mostostal Warszawa’s volunteers visited 14 groups and provided training to approximately 420 school children. In addition, in this year’ edition of this initiative participated 14,000 children at schools in 15 countries: Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, India, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, Peru, Portugal, South Africa, Spain and the United States.
